Much more than a long hood!
The E-Type is not only the 1961 Geneva Show sensation and an endless hood. It is also the heir of the “C” and “D” prototypes and of their le Mans wins. The E-Type hesitates between these identities, between Saville Row and the Hunaudieres, between Twiggy and Mulsanne…
… Of course we are immediately stunned by the “sculptural” beauty of the E-Type, by the quality of its leathers or by the “so chic” Smiths instruments aligned on the dashboard ; but it’s before discovering the multi-tubular structure supporting the double over head cam 4,2l 6 cylinders engine, or the rear train with its “in-board” disc-brakes designed to lower the non-suspended weight…
The result is a high-class sports roadster, a real “GT” swallowing kilometers (sorry miles!) with enthusiasm. An “easy” car that one can drive on the generous torque of its big engine or push in the revs to get the most lyrical sound!!! It is as well the pleasure of driving a genuine “myth”, which will create a sensation at every stop, at the hotel or at the restaurant… Where you will invariably receive the best welcome!!!
On the practical side: Our Jaguar E-Type Series 2 convertible is a very easy car to live with… Large and spacious convertible, it doesn’t fear neither the long drives nor the highway, it enables you to bring many luggage that you will put in the rear trunk and in a second space behind the front seats. Very reliable it always starts on the button, no matter if it is warm or cold.
It is also a very safe and easy to drive “classic” thanks to its fully synchronized gearbox and its four discs brakes, the only point to survey is that with more than 260 Bhp and a maximum speed widely superior to 200 km/h, you better have not to be too much enthusiastic… Just try it the time of a dream week-end between Monaco and Italy!!!
