Daimler SP 250 Dart
The Daimler SP 250 is a rarity, with only a handful left of the 2,654 produced... including one in our 'collection'! Sacrificed by Jaguar in favour of the E-Type, the 'Dart' nevertheless has many assets, including a unique 'face' and a delightful little 2.5-litre all-alloy V8 - what a sound!
However, despite this thundering engine, the Daimler 'Dart' received a lukewarm reception, the fault of a very (too?) audacious design imagined to seduce the American market. Perhaps also because of Daimler's finances at the time of launch, which were already suffering from the antics of the boss, Sir Bernard Docker, and his flamboyant wife, Lady Norah... More resources would have been needed to defend this highly original model, with its all-fibreglass bodywork and its four disc brakes, unique at the time.
As well as these innovations, the Daimler is also a very typical English Roadster, with its Moto-Lita steering wheel, its line of Smith counters on the dashboard, its spoked wheels with central hubs, and its very short, very "sporty" gearbox, largely inspired by that of the TR3. Designed to conquer America, the "last Daimler" is nevertheless a real "English car"...
Getting started
The Daimler 'Dart' SP 250 is a real 2+2, with a nice rear bench seat for two young children (or even two adults if it's for a short trip). It has a large boot and a V8 engine that makes motorway travel a no-brainer, and the brakes are excellent. It drives like an English roadster from the 50s, requiring a bit of muscle and concentration on winding roads, but the sensations are fantastic. Even if you don't drive at crazy speeds, it's a car that gives you a lot of pleasure!

Rental conditions
Our fleet is just as valuable as the quality of the experience you are about to have. This is why it is important that you read our rental conditions.
Mileage
All our rentals include a package of 125 kilometers per day. Beyond that, we offer a single rate of €2.50 per kilometer.
Rental day
The rental day lasts a full 24 hours, it begins when the car leaves, after presentation/handling.
Required age
25 years for the DS Cabriolet, the Jaguar Type E, the Mercedes 190 SL, the Ferrari, the Aston Martin and the Rolls Royce, 21 years for the others.
Documentation
A license of more than one year and a second identity document will be required to access our cars.
Insurance
Insurance, which represents 30% of the rental amount, is included in the price. An excess remains the responsibility of the tenant in the event of theft or damage for which he is responsible. In this case the excess is never debited in full, only the value of the repairs is due after agreement on a repair estimate.
Deposit
The security deposit is the excess amount and this is only a request for authorization on your credit card, or credit cards if necessary (Visa or Mastercard), no money is debited from your account. You leave with peace of mind and so do we!
Car park
As long as you book for a minimum rental period of 3 days, free parking is available on request to leave your “everyday” car during the rental. Contact our team to find out more!
Booking & Cancelation
For individual customers, in the event of cancellation less than one week before the scheduled departure date, the full rental amount will be due. For groups, a 50% deposit is required upon confirmation of the “rally”. Then, in the event of partial cancellation or total cancellation of the event, the cancellation fees are 50% up to two months before the "rally", 75% up to 15 days before the "rally », and 100% in the event of cancellation less than 15 days before the “rally”. If the event is postponed, the postponement fee is 10%. In the case of a group postponed and then canceled, the cancellation fees are always at least 50%, regardless of the date and deadline for the new cancellation (then 75% and 100%, in the case of a new cancellation less than a month or less than 15 days before the “rally”). In all cases (cancellation or postponement of the event, cancellation or postponement of the rally, partial cancellation, no-show, etc.) all deposits received remain the property of Rent A Classic Car / RCT.
